Faces at the skin's surface / Drawing workshop

A return to portraiture, this time focusing on the expression of emotions—how they are revealed in a line, a posture, or a subtle facial feature—echoing the painted and photographed figures in the museum’s collection. Black chalk, red chalk, charcoal, graphite, and watercolor bring these emotions to life.

Cengiz Özer, a visual artist and teacher, has been sharing his expertise for over 25 years. He has taught in Paris at iconic venues such as the Louvre (Ateliers du Carrousel), the Musée Carnavalet and the Petit Palais. Now based in the region, he also teaches at the MACS’s new cultural hub, the PARCC, a centre for contemporary art in Labenne.
